Failed Drug Trial Men Shorter Lives?

In the Sunday Times today David Leppard writes that "VICTIMS of the disastrous "Elephant Man" drugs trial have been told they face contracting cancer and other fatal diseases as a result of being poisoned in the bungled tests. One of the six victims was told last week he is already showing definite early signs of lymphatic cancer."

The fact that they suffered so bady because of the drug trial is bad enough. According to Leppard "The men had been told by doctors they would not suffer any life-threatening illnesses."

If the problem is due to significant breakdown of the genetic make up of the men's bodies it is likely that currently science can do little for them.

However, if it's due to the toxins from the drug it would be well worth trying the infrared sauna approach - obviously it's a new drug so we don't know whether an infrared sauna would help but it has to be worth trying if the problem is not gene-damage linked.

The Secret Detox Tool

Where Did This Secret Detox Tool Begin?

The secret I'm referring to is the infrared sauna.

Infrared saunas were thought to have originated from research done
by NASA in the sixties or eighties. Which decade depends on the web site
you read.

The Secret Tool Was Not Created At NASA

I've looked at the NASA products spin-off database from their developments for space flight and I can't see any references to NASA producing the far infrared sauna.

However, digging a bit further I found an article by Dr. Aaron M Flickstein titled "Research on Far Infrared Rays". In it Dr. Flickstein notes that,

"Dr. Tadashi Ishikawa, a member of the Research and Development Department of Fuji Medical, received a patent in 1965 for a zirconia ceramic infrared heater used in the first healing infrared thermal systems."

He then goes on to say that only Japanese medical practitioners used infrared systems for 14 years. Until 1979 when they were released for public use.

Infrared therapy was further refined and started selling in the USA around 1981.

So it is conceivable that NASA began using it for astronauts in the mid 1980's as some sauna web sites claim.

How You Can Get The Full Detox Benefits
From An Infrared Sauna

If you want the full detoxification benefits of an infrared sauna it is important that you use it the right way.

An infrared sauna heats tissues to a greater depth compared to a conventional sauna. So you do need to decide whether to get checked out first before your infrared sauna session.

People Who Should Check Before Using An Infrared Sauna

  • Those on medication

  • Specific chronic or acute illness

  • Implants

  • Getting pain

To explain a little further:

If you're on prescription medication you should check with your doctor or pharmacist whether the drug volume should be reduced or increased when using far infrared.

If you have a specific ailment you must talk through with your doctor exactly how you intend to use an infrared sauna. There may be no problem, however your doctor may be aware of certain diseases that should not be heated higher than your "normal" core body temperature. Because this is relatively new technology your doctor may not be aware of it.

If you have silicone or metal implants or heart monitors or pacemakers it makes sense to check with your doctor whether heating with infrared heat will affect it, and you! Of course in the unlikely event that you feel any pain stop using the sauna.

People Who Should Not Use An Infrared Sauna

If you've an internal infection, such as a tooth cavity, an infected joint injury or other infection you should wait until it has healed before using the infrared sauna.

Pregnant women are wise to stop taking saunas until after birth as the infrared sauna does heat down to a deep level of tissue. We know of no study that says it's harmful but it's just not worth any risk to the unborn child.

If you're prone to excessive bleeding you should avoid infrared saunas. This is because heating causes vasodilation which in the majority of people is beneficial. In haemophiliacs and others with a higher bleeding risk it can increase the likelihood of bleeding.

Who Benefits From An Infrared Sauna?

Athletes, footballers, golfers, in fact anyone who has an active life style. What's more the infrared sauna can promote faster healing of sprains and other injuries.

(leave 48 hours before using the sauna to allow swelling and heat to reduce from the injury first).

Infrared heat will help recovery, with or without injury because:

  1. Infrared heat increases the extensibility of collagen tissues
  2. Infrared heat reduces stiff joints
  3. Infrared heat reduces muscle spasms
  4. Infrared heat helps with pain relief
  5. Infrared heat increases blood flow to promote healing.

So it's also useful for people with arthritic conditions and also with leg or body ulcers because of the deeper penetrating heat and the ability to get the blood flowing faster.

Skin conditions such as eczema, acne, nettle rash Psoriasis and even blocked pores are all helped by infrared sauna therapy.

There is quite a list of medical conditions that are all alleviated or improved with infrared sauna therapy.

A large number of studies have been conducted by Japanese and other researchers showing the benefits of far infrared therapy. It's taken a while and people are now talking about this secret detox tool.

Far Infrared Sauna - A Life-Saving Detox Tool

Whilst researching the original birth of the Far Infrared Sauna I came across an article by Dr. Sherry Rogers titled "Detoxification using Far Infrared Saunas."

Obviously, given that we sell infrared saunas and also Sherry Roger's best selling book "Detoxify Or Die", my attention switched in that direction immediately and I read the article.

Although she says that a Far Infrared Sauna is the only method known to remove man made toxins, with before and after data, in her article she is even more emphatic about her recommendation for using a far infrared sauna. She said,

"...I used to hesitate to recommend something as expensive, but when you
realize the lifelong incapacity and expense of diseases such as heart disease,
chemical sensitivity, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, chronic pain syndromes,
migraines, Alzheimer's, or any others caused by chemical and metal toxicity, a
sauna is cheap."

As she goes on to say "Add to that the fact that it may be the primary "cure" or solution to the problem, and it is a win-win situation."

Whilst none of this comes as any suprise Dr Rogers is supported by a growing body of evidence of the usefulness of infrared sauna therapy. Much of the research is done in Japan and China where the infrared sauna has been in place for a much longer time than the English speaking nations.

Have They Found A Marker to Show Possible Future Brain Disease Problems?

You may remember back in May 2006 we asked if you suffered from oxidative stress.

Back then we showed a  free radical test that could help indicate a marker that showed that stress so that you could deal with it before you got diseases like Parkinson's or others.

As you know Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, Lou Gehrig's disease and other brain problems are in a growing band of diseases that are thought to be caused by oxidative stress. Oxidative stress being the cell damage caused during metabolism when the oxygen in the body assumes ever more chemically reactive forms.

The exact connection between oxidation and these brain diseases has been missing until a new study just reported today in the journal Biochemistry. The study by the Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine shows damage is linked to nitration of proteins ( which is a natural byproduct of oxidation).

The study was carried out on nearly 8,000 different, detectable proteins in the mice brains. The study has said that neurodegenerative diseases leave a marker that could be used to predict the earliest stages of brain disease.

The markers relationship to protein does make me wonder whether it could also be used as a test for "Mad Cow Disease".

Others believe that detecting the marker before possibly permanent damage occurs would help doctors cure "incurable" diseases.

You can  get free radical tests to show whether you're subject to oxidative stress. These tests allow you to monitor your own levels and do something about it.

Oxidative Stress - What Is It?

Oxidative stress is cell damage caused by too many oxidants, including  free radicals, peroxide and oxygen ions. As I've noted before these oxidants are necessary in the body for proper cellular function. It's only when they're present in excess that they become harmful. And it's only where the body is unable to resolve the excess that problems can appear as disease.

Other Causes Of Brain Disease

A large recent study at the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH)  shows that people who report exposure to chronic low dosage of pesticides have a 70% higher incidence of Parkinson's Disease than people who don't report such exposure.

The study also looked for other Parkinson Disease links with exposure to other  substances such as asbestos, coal dust, stone dust, chemicals, acids, or solvents. It found no link for these.

Remember an infrared sauna is the only proven method, with before and after data, to remove man-made chemicals from the body. So an infrared sauna is to going to be of major assistance in helping the body remove pesticides and residues, because they are all man-made. Read Sherry Rogers book Detoxify or Die for her information on pesticides like Dioxin, a very strong pesticide.
